The HK CSKA Moscow ( Russian ХК ЦСКА , also Russian ХК Москва ) was a Russian ice hockey club that existed between 1996 and 2002 parallel to the ice hockey department of the CSKA Moscow . The club was founded on May 14, 1996 by Viktor Tikhonov after he was dismissed from CSKA Moscow as head coach.

In the 2001/02 season , HK CSKA made it to the Superleague , while CSKA Moscow was relegated from this. Subsequently, the HK CSKA was dissolved on August 1, 2002 and CSKA Moscow took the place of Tikhonov's club in the super league.
