HMAS Moresby
HMAS Moresby is a ship name of the Royal Australian Navy after the naval admiral John Moresby :
- The first HMAS Moresby was a sloop of Race Horse class . The ship was launched for the British Royal Navy in 1918 and was taken over by Australia in 1925. During the Second World War , the sloop was used as an escort ship and was broken up in 1947.
- The second HMAS Moresby was launched in 1963 as a survey ship and has been used by the International Organization for Migration since 1999 under the name Patricia Anne Hotung .
