The anti-tank missile system HOT ( French H aut subsonique O ptiquement T éléguidé = German high subsonic range optically remote-controlled ) DM 72 is a wire-guided ( SACLOS ) day and night vision capable guided missile system of the second generation, which is primarily intended for anti-tank defense. It was developed by the Euromissile consortium , consisting of MBB (Germany) and Aérospatiale (France), and has been manufactured in large numbers since 1976. The HOT weapon system can be used by both helicopters and ground vehicles. In the Bundeswehr, HOT formed the main armament of the anti-tank helicopter (PAH 1) Bo 105-P and the Jaguar 1 tank destroyer .
