The HSV Minden-Nord has been a handball community since 1994. The first women's team played from 2008 to 2010 in the second handball Bundesliga north .
history
One of the three main clubs of HSV, TV Grün-Weiß Stemmer , played for two years from 1982 to 1984 in the northern relay of the then double-track Bundesliga 1 . In the first season 1982/83 they landed with 10:26 points in eighth place in the table. In the second year, 1983/84, 6:26 was not enough to keep the class as ninth and penultimate. Since then, TV Stemmer and later HSG Stemmer / Friedewalde have played continuously in the Regionalliga , which - from 1976 onwards - they belonged to for a total of 29 years. Since TuS Minderheide joined in 2012, the gaming community has been called HSV Minden-Nord.
The HSG Stemmer / Friedewalde is not an independent sports club, but a civil law society (GbR) and consists of the two parent clubs TV Grün-Weiß Stemmer , an association with almost 500 members from Minden in East Westphalia , and the TuS Freya Friedewalde , an association with about 700 members from the city of Petershagen an der Weser . A youth syndicate has existed between the two clubs since 1989. The HSG plays its home games in the Minden-Nord sports hall (Stemmer).
The best-known player is Anika Ziercke , former national player of TuS Eintracht Minden and handball player of the year 2002. The team was coached temporarily by Rainer Niemeyer , an ex-national player and manager of the GWD Minden national league . The 2nd team plays in the association league. In total, HSV Minden-Nord starts the 2015/16 season with three women's and five men's teams (1st team: Association League).
