Company history

The origins of the family business lay in the development, production and sale of insulation materials ( thermal insulation and sound insulation ). In the 1870s, the engineer Wilhelm Berkefeld recognized the value of kieselguhr as an insulating material for steam boilers and pipelines. In 1879 he built a factory for thermal insulation compounds in Celle, which he sold to his colleague Albert Haacke in 1885. Haacke was previously a representative of Berkefeld filters in Great Britain, but was also involved in the sale of insulating materials and founded the company Haacke & Co. It was not until the turn of the century that Haacke returned to Germany to take up his local businesses to dedicate. In 1902 Haacke patented a process for the production of building and insulating material "... from cork, pitch and hot clay pulp".

In 1960 the first model house was shown at the industrial fair in Hanover. In the following years the company specialized in providing half-timbered and clinker houses. In 1998 the company developed the 'Haacke-natur' program line, which was geared towards healthy living and ecological building . In 2001 the company developed a “modern city villa” and built the first 3-liter house certified by the Fraunhofer Institute for Building Physics (IPB) in accordance with the Energy Saving Ordinance . A year later a passive house followed . Today, the company builds one and two-family houses as well as social and functional buildings, hotels, kindergartens and medical practices across Germany. The company specialized in energy-saving building in wood panel construction.

In 2009 production was relocated from Celle to Potsdam and the company was renamed Haacke Haus GmbH + Co KG. Werder / Havel changed. Administration and sales remained in Celle until summer 2018. On July 2, 2018, the managing director of the general partner of HAACKE Haus GmbH + Co.KG applied to the local court of Celle to open insolvency proceedings in provisional self-administration . With the decision of the Local Court of Celle on September 1, 2018, insolvency proceedings were opened and business operations were discontinued.
