The area is mainly used for tourism. At the beginning of the 1970s, bathing and camping began on the lakes. In the course of Regionale 2004 , the project “Jump over the gravel bank” was implemented together with the Neuenkirchen community . Here, the Haddorfer Lakes and Offlumer See were restructured and formed into today's local recreation area. The Haddorf Lakes are primarily used for swimming, fishing, (regatta) sailing and pedal boating.

The modern Haddorfer Seen campsite (4-star category) is nestled in pine forests between the bathing lakes.

The bathing lake is used as an open bathing area and the water quality is checked regularly. There is a mini golf course, a soccer field, a basketball field and cyclist huts on the lakes.
