history

On March 9, 1873, 84 members founded a “loan and savings bank” on the initiative of the Hörnes court chaplain from Hersberg Castle. The first business location was a room above the "Mohren" restaurant in Hagnau in Hagnau, which the association's first cashier, mayor and innkeeper Georg Ehrlinspiel, made available. A small iron box forms the initial inventory. All the furniture was borrowed. The first business year ended with a net profit of 551 marks.

As a result of the First World War , which broke out in 1914, currency devaluation began in 1916, which was the beginning of the first inflation . The balance sheet total on December 31, 1923 amounted to several trillion marks. After the currency changeover, 7,463 Rentenmarks remained. In 1940, shortly after the outbreak of the Second World War , the then 67-year-old advance payment association changed its name to “Volksbank Hagnau”. Four years later the bank was transformed into a "limited liability cooperative". A payment office was set up in Immenstaad in 1962. The branch in Immenstaad is still the only branch of the Hagnauer Volksbank eG.

The current bank building was occupied on May 27, 1970 and is still the seat of the bank today. On November 20, 1973, at the 100th anniversary, the balance sheet total was DM 12.5 million, with a net profit of DM 53,000. Since November 6, 1976 the bank has been called "Hagnauer Volksbank eG".

The first ATMs were installed in Hagnau and Immenstaad in 1990/1991, and today the bank works with R + V Versicherung, Bausparkasse Schwäbisch Hall, VR-Leasing and Münchner Hypothekenbank from the cooperative financial network.

Protection scheme

The bank is affiliated with BVR Institutssicherung GmbH and the security scheme of the Federal Association of German Volksbanks and Raiffeisenbanks eV.
