Haiko Hörnig (born May 11, 1984 in Ludwigshafen ) is a German screenwriter and comic book writer .

Life

In 2006, Hörnig started the webcomic Selective Memories with his friend Marius Pawlitza , first in German, later also in English. Together they also published individual comics in the satirical magazine pardon and the anthology JAZAM! After a discontinued American studies / sociology studies in Mainz , he was employed as a copywriter in a Frankfurt advertising agency in 2011.

Since 2013 Hörnig has been working with cartoonist Joscha Sauer on non - funny cartoon volumes and the non-funny cartoon series financed by crowdfunding . Together with Sauer he writes scripts for it and speaks some of the characters.

In 2016 he and Marius Pawlitza published the first volume of the four-part fantasy comic series A House Divided by Carlsen Verlag . The Lerner Publishing Group secured the license for the American market. The first volume was published there in April 2020 under the title The Accursed Inheritance of Henrietta Achilles .

Hörnig has been working with the illustrator Annelie Wagner for a number of years on the webcomic project Kletschmore , which is described as the “Wichtel Murder Mystery”.

In addition to his work for Nichtlustig , Hörnig also writes the texts for the comic series Der kleine ICE, which appears online and in the Deutsche Bahn reading locomotive magazine.

Podcast

Hörnig and Sauer have been producing the podcast Embarrassing Silence since 2016 . In it, the two of them talk about films, strange anecdotes, sliced ​​cheese and other things. After a 3-year break, the second season started in April 2020.
