Hakimpur

Hakimpur is a 2000-inhabitant village ("Pind" in Punjabi ) 22 km from the city of Phagwara in the Doaba region of Punjab in India. This village is located in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar District (formerly Nawanshahr District), near the border of Jullunder District. The closest cities are Mukandpur and Apra . The city of Banga is about 10 km from the village. The Brahmin clan of the Korpals, the Jatt clan of the Purewals and the Sanger clan of the Kumhar (sometimes also written as "Ghumar") reside in this village. The village has a large Gurudwara (Sikh temple) and a Mandir (Hindu temple). Hakimpur is the birthplace of the musician King Gurcharan Mall .
