The Half-ration Névé (English for half-ration firn field ) is a large firn field in East Antarctic Victoria Land . It lies at the head of the Aviator Glacier and is bounded on its west side by the Mesa Range .
Scientists from a 1962 to 1963 campaign as part of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition made the name. It is named after the fact that their food rations were limited for a few days as a result of a blizzard .
