Haliplus flavicollis is a beetle from the family of water treaders (Haliplidae).

features

The beetles reach a body length of 3.5 to 4 millimeters and are rusty yellow in color. The pronotum is truncated in the middle of the front edge, its front angles protrude long and pointed to the front. Basally, it has a horizontal row of dots that is twice as large as the dots on the front edge. The sides of the pronotum are straight. The points at the base of the wings are no coarser than those of the rows of points on the wings . There are no spots on the wings.

Occurrence and way of life

The species is distributed in Europe, Siberia , Turkestan and North Africa. It is not uncommon and widespread in Central Europe. The animals live in clean, stagnant and slowly flowing waters.
