The Halleaths Home Farm is a farm near the Scottish village of Lochmaben in the Council Area Dumfries and Galloway . In 1988 the farmhouse was added to the Scottish Monument Lists in Category B. The associated former stables, however, are classified as a monument of the highest monument category A.

farm

The farm is located around one kilometer east of Lochmaben near the banks of the Annan . The farm buildings were built in different phases, but mostly date from the 19th century. The farmhouse dates back to the second half of the 19th century and may have been designed by David Bryce , who worked in the area in 1865. The front of the one-story building is three axes wide. The central entrance is designed with a pointed arch . The slate-covered gable roof with gable chimneys is provided with dormers .

Former stables

The stables to the east of the farmhouse date from 1843. They were designed in the style of Walter Newall's architecture. The stables consist of a U-shaped building complex with a separate smaller building on the fourth side. The edges of the building between the legs of the U are made as gentle curves. The complex is designed symmetrically with axes in the scheme 3–3–2–3–3. The numerous gates have meanwhile been largely closed with masonry. The facades are decorated with Doric pilasters . The former stables are used as a workshop. The detached one-story building was divided into two units and serves as living space.
