Bègles indoor swimming pool
The indoor swimming pool in Bègles , a French town in the Gironde department of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region , was built between 1930 and 1932. The indoor swimming pool at Rue Francis-de-Pressencé No. 1 has been protected as a monument historique since 1991 .
The construction of the building in the Art Deco style was decided in 1925 and carried out according to plans by the city architect Blanchard. The construction is made of reinforced concrete.
The exceptionally diverse decor is only preserved on the facade. The ceramic tiles come from the Castiaux frères company and the leaded glass windows from the Bime workshop. The entrance hall is vaulted by a dome .
