European indoor hockey championship for men 2008

With the men's indoor hockey championship in 2008 , the men's indoor hockey championship was held for the 13th time. It took place from January 18-20 , 2008 in Yekaterinburg , Russia. The previous record winner Germany had to give way to the national team of the Russian Federation for the first time after defending their titles 11 times. The teams from Switzerland and Poland relegated to the "B-EM" .

Fifth to eighth place

The third and fourth placed of these two groups played the places 5 - 8 in the relegation group as well as the two relegated places (places 7 and 8) in the "B-EM 2010" . All four teams took the points and results from the direct comparisons in the preliminary round and only played one game each against the national teams from the other preliminary round group.
