The Halle Housing Association - briefly HWG - is a municipal housing company based in Halle , which with about 17,800 apartments (as of 2017) is the largest landlord in the city. The city of Halle has been the sole shareholder since 1992.

According to the entry in the commercial register ( Stendal District Court , HRB 204481), the object of the company is the "construction, support, management and administration of buildings in all legal and usage forms, including private homes and condominiums". In 2017, the GmbH achieved an annual turnover of 89.2 million euros and an annual profit of 20.6 million euros with 225 employees (5 trainees, quota of women in management: 29%) with total assets of 618.5 million euros.
history
The origins of the HWG go back to the Kleinwohnungsbau AG founded on April 19, 1922 , whose houses from 1951 with the municipal buildings of the property management, city council , in the municipal business enterprise of the state capital Halle (of the state Saxony-Anhalt existing from 1947 to 1952) , Real Estate Department for Small Housing Construction. About the VEB (K) house and property and municipal VEB Housing Administration (KWV, from 1961) evolved from the 1971 created VEB building business hall with administrative headquarters in Reilstraße 54 . Even before the reunification, on June 30, 1990, this was converted into Hallesche Wohnungs- und Grundbesitz AG , which in turn was renamed into today's Hallesche Wohnungsgesellschaft mbH in August 1992 .
