Hallett Ridge

Hallett Ridge is a deep sea ridge in the Southern Ocean northeast of the East Antarctic Victoria Land .
The designation confirmed by the Advisory Committee for Undersea Features in September 1997 was based on a proposal by Steven C. Cande of the Scripps Institution of Oceanography and is based on the designation of the Hallett Peninsula and Cape Hallett . Its namesake is Thomas Rawe Hallett († 1845), a ship officer in the British Antarctic Expedition (1839-1843) under the direction of James Clark Ross .
