There has been a fountain at this point since at least the beginning of the 14th century, this was replaced by a new one at the beginning of the 16th century, which was then consecrated to the town's patron Georg . It was replaced again in the middle of the 19th century. Since the sandstone used was not suitable, it had to be replaced again in 1935, this time shell limestone was used as the material .
