Halli Galli is a crowd awareness game for two to eight players. It was published in 1991 by Amigo , based on the fruits shown, under the title Tutti Frutti and was renamed the following year. By February 2006, two million games had been sold.

Course of the game

In the middle there is a bell that is reminiscent of the usual reception bell in hotels . Each player has a talon of the same size at the beginning , the cards of which are face down. The cards show four different types of fruit in different numbers (1–5) : yellow bananas, red strawberries, green limes and purple plums. In a clockwise direction , the players turn over one card with their thumbs inwards on their own discard pile. This is done until exactly five identical fruits of the same type are face up on the pile. It does not matter whether the fruits can be seen on a single card or the number five is the sum of fruits on different cards. With each turn the number of open fruits changes by laying out a new card and hiding the previous card on the discard pile. If exactly five identical fruits of the same variety can be seen in the overall top view, all players try to strike the bell placed in the middle. The player who rings the doorbell first can take all the discard piles. The player turns over the cards he has won and places them under his talon with the cards turned over. If a player rings incorrectly in a game with several other players, he must give one of his cards from the talon to all other players. If only two players play against each other, if the bell rings incorrectly, the other player wins the two stacks of cards with the revealed cards. The player whose talon is completely used up is eliminated. The winner is the player who was allowed to collect all of his fellow players' cards at the end of the game.

history

Halli Galli first appeared in 1991 based on the fruits shown under the title Tutti Frutti. However, in order to avoid confusing the name with the erotic game show Tutti Frutti on RTL , which had previously started , it was decided to change the name the following year. In terms of content, both editions are almost the same, only the green grapes have been replaced by limes. The Halli Galli series ( Halli Galli, Halli Galli Extreme and Halli Galli Junior ) has been published with revised graphics since 2010 . The game is designed by Haim Shafir , who recommends the game for children aged six and over. A round takes about five to ten minutes.

variants

In addition to the game Halli Galli Junior for children from 4 years of age, in which two clowns of the same color, but not sad clowns, have to ring, there has been another variant under the name Halli Galli Extreme since 2005 . The game principle remained the same, but new animal cards (elephant, monkey, pig) have been added. Now the goal is no longer to ring the bell for five of the same fruit, but to look for two identical fruit cards. However, if an elephant or a monkey is uncovered, the bell must also be pressed, but only if the animal concerned can eat the fruit. For example, elephants don't like strawberries and monkeys don't like limes. In the case of pigs as omnivores, however, you can always ring the bell.
