occupation

Hello taxi! was a comedy show with a hidden camera on the German TV station RTL , which was first broadcast on April 5, 2008. The programs were broadcast on Saturdays at 10:15 p.m.

concept

Hape Kerkeling slipped into the role of the imaginary taxi driver Günther Warnke . The broadcast was recorded in Düsseldorf , Kerkeling's home at the time. Three cameras were installed in the car. He made his fellow travelers very angry with his behavior. Before the passengers got to their destination, he revealed his actual identity as Hape Kerkeling, showed the cameras and said the ride would be free.

Günther Warnke is a typical figure of Kerkeling. Outward features were a brown cap, horn-rimmed glasses and a mustache. Günther Warnke came from Düsseldorf and was world champion in the burp competition . His favorite dish was currywurst .

Worth mentioning

Since Hape Kerkeling ate a currywurst at the wheel in the second episode of Hallo Taxi (it was actually French fries) and used his mobile phone in several episodes, a viewer reported him to the police after the broadcast. However, the public prosecutor's office waived prosecution, as the broadcast was recorded the previous year and the act was barred.

reception

  • FAZ writes: "'Hallo Taxi' is a small and quiet program, and Kerkeling certainly designed it exactly that way."
