Hall's Bayou is a 12 miles long river in the US state of Texas . It rises on the edge of a loosely built-up residential area seven kilometers southeast of Alvin in northeast Brazoria County , right next to a railway line of the former Missouri Pacific Railroad . From there it initially flows in a south-easterly direction through largely agricultural areas, from the middle reaches it changes its direction first to the south and finally to the south-west.

In the upper reaches of the Hall's Bayou there is temporarily no water, in the middle reaches it is accompanied by alluvial forests on its banks. In the lower reaches it begins to meander . Two of the river loops lead it a short distance into neighboring Galveston County , otherwise it runs entirely within Brazoria County. In the last two kilometers it widens significantly, the area is swampy there. Finally, Halls Bayou flows into Halls Lake, which is connected to Chocolate Bay by a narrow, short passage called The Narrows . The main tributaries of Hall Bayou are the Cloud Bayou and the Willow Bayou , both from the left.

The river was probably named after a Jacob Hall who owned land on the east bank. In certain areas of the southern United States, the part of the name Bayou stands for slowly flowing or even stagnant water.
