Matthias Roll alias TC was the executive producer for this , and Phil Matt was responsible for the camera. content

song

The song is first about the lyrical self, sung by Philipp Laude, who has a nice afternoon at the lake on a Sunday. But suddenly his smartphone rings and his boss asks him to appear at work. In the subsequent refrain, which is introduced with "Shut up!", The lyrical self mocks him. In the second part of the song (after the chorus), another young man, who is also sung by Mathias Roll in the role of the lyrical self, meets in a restaurant with an attractive woman he has met on the Internet. But she bores him very much because she just talks all the time. The chorus then begins again. After the second refrain, various keywords are listed that either have negative connotations or are portrayed in an ironic way. Each keyword mentioned is commented on with the exclamation "Shut your mouth!" The song ends with the third passage of the chorus.

Music video

The music video for "Shut your mouth" was uploaded to the Y-Titty channel on the YouTube video portal .

During the stanzas, it alternates between scenes illustrating the lyrics of the song and the members of Y-Titty performing the song (with very simple replicas of instruments and microphones in hand). In the background the drummer can be seen again and again , who also appears in other music videos of the trio. While the keywords are being listed, they are also shown in pictures.

On the one hand, scenes that match the plot are shown for the chorus, but there are also cheering and dancing people (colleagues Phils, visitors to the restaurant). On the other hand, in the second and third choruses there are also scenes that belong to other storylines, for example the meadow by the lake with people celebrating and the workplace that is being destroyed (both from verse 1). People who are portrayed negatively in the song (for example Phil's employer or the “sex bomb”) also celebrate and can be seen singing and dancing in the picture.

The video was recorded with many other well-known YouTube users, including ApeCrime , MrTrashpack , Christoph Krachten von Clixoom , Joyce Ilg and Die Lochis .

In 2014 Y-Titty won the ECHO for the music video in the category “Best Video (national)”.

Charts and chart placement

As the ensemble announced in some announcements, the members expect a very great success with the single. The aim is - as with the last song - a positioning within the top 10 of the German single charts . On August 19th, Media Control announced that "Shut your mouth" will enter the single charts at number 5, which means that the goal was achieved. In the Swiss and Austrian single charts, too, a position in the top 10 was achieved with 9th and 7th place.
