List of train stations in the Netherlands |
The Baarland (Bld) stop is the former train station in the village of Baarland in the Dutch province of Zeeland . It was a stop on the Goes - Hoedekenskerke - Goes ring railway set up in 1927 by the Spoorweg-Maatschappij Zuid-Beveland (SZB) .
The station building was built in 1926 on the route leading north of the village in the style of Dutch inter-war architecture. As with most of the other stations on the ring line, the SZB “ZB-Standard” type of construction was used here.
The stop was opened when the line went into operation on May 19, 1927 and closed again on May 15, 1934 after seven years of operation.
A simple, one-story saddle roof building was built on a rectangular floor plan , in which an apartment was housed in addition to the office room. The masonry made of reddish-brown bricks is clad with wood in the upper area. The shape of the door and the frame have largely been preserved in their original state.
For reasons of cultural history and because of its ensemble value, the station is a Rijksmonument under monument protection.
