The HMH Hamburger Media House GmbH was since 2007 existing publisher of video games. The Hamburg-based subsidiary of Hexaglot Holding GmbH , which belongs to the Langenscheidt publishing group in Munich, was founded in 1995. Today the focus of business activity is on the publishing and distribution of entertainment products in the software and film sectors .

On November 5, 2009, the Hamburg media house filed for bankruptcy. The bad annual results of 2008 and also the sluggish year 2009 led to this decision. On February 1, 2010, the insolvency proceedings (Register Court Hamburg Az. 67b IN 276/09) were opened and the lawyer Sven-Holger Undritz from White & Case was appointed insolvency administrator.
