Hamburger Royal TS

Hamburger Royal TS

The Hamburger Royal TS is a variant of the hamburger that is produced and sold at McDonald’s in some European countries, mainly Germany.

The version of the "Quarter Pounder" available at McDonald's in English-speaking countries was initially marketed in German-speaking countries under the name "Quarter Pounder". In the 1980s it was renamed "Hamburger Royal". In 1990 a variant of this burger was sold by McDonald's in Germany for the first time with sliced lettuce and tomato slices under the name "Hamburger Royal TS", whereby the abbreviation TS is intended to indicate these ingredients. The item was initially not permanently on sale, but has been a permanent part of the McDonald's Germany range since the early 1990s. It was also a fixed component of the product range in Austria until 2014, when it was replaced by the Grand Royal, but was temporarily (as of March 2015) reintroduced as a promotional burger. In some countries there are occasional promotions offering burgers that are the same or similar to the Hamburger Royal TS. These are often marketed under the name "McFeast". In contrast, the “McDLT” - ie the “McDonald's with Lettuce and Tomato” - had little success in the USA and is no longer on the menu there.

preparation

A Hamburger Royal TS consists of the following components from bottom to top:

  • Bottom of the hamburger bun (or soft roll or bun )
  • Meat patty
  • Cheddar - processed cheese slice
  • two sliced tomato slices
  • Iceberg lettuce in strips
  • Onions
  • Seasoning cream (sandwich sauce)
  • Lid of the hamburger bun ( sprinkled with sesame seeds)

The sauce known as “spice cream” can also be found on the McChicken , the veggie burger and some breakfast products. The meat patty (113 g before preparation) is larger than that of the normal ham or cheeseburger or Big Mac (45 g before preparation) and also corresponds to the patties that are used in Hamburg's Royal Cheese . The iceberg lettuce is identical to the Big Mac salad.
