The Hamburg German-Russian cinema forum "Kinohafen" is an international cinema forum that takes place annually in Hamburg , Germany . It is considered a platform for independent Russian and international productions.

history

The Kinoforum was founded in 2010 by IAK RockFront e. V. in cooperation with the municipal Metropolis Kino (METROPOLIS KINEMATHEK Hamburg e.V.). The aim of the cinema forum is to give viewers an overview of German and Russian film art, to promote an international cinema dialogue, to offer artists and those interested in culture new opportunities, to contribute to the development of the discussion about the future of international cooperation in the film industry and to present outstanding films from Russia in Europe .

The guests of the festival were Svetlana Karmalita, Svetlana Pismichenko, Alexander Rastorguev, Pavel Kosotmarov, Eldar Salavatov, Vladislav Furmanov, Maksim Sukhanov, Anjorka Strechel , Peter Riepl and the others.

The short film competition was held for the first time in 2015.

Main competition

More than 12 films take part in the main competition.

Short film competition

Feature, debut and search short films are presented in the competition. The films are judged by the jury. The audience award will also be presented.

Retrospectives

The focus of the Kinoforum is on the retrospectives and panel discussions. Directors such as Alexei Fedorschenko , Alexei Balabanow , Alexei German and Sergei Parajanov will be presented at the “Kinohafen” .

Award winners

The winner of the short film competition 2015 was the film The Return of Erkin by Marija Guskova. The audience award in the competition for young directors was won by the film 14 steps by Maksim Shavkin, Russia .
