The municipality is part of the Arrondissement Arrondissement Clermont and is part of the canton of Saint-Just-en-Chaussée . The inhabitants are called Nourardais .

Nourard-le-Franc is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Catillon-Fumenchon in the north, Saint-Just-en-Chaussée in the east, Valescourt in the southeast, Le Mesnil-sur-Bulles in the south, Le Plessier-sur-Bulles in the west and southwest, Le Quesnel-Aubry in the west and Bucamps in the northwest.
