history

From the 17th century Liancourt belonged to the La Rochefoucauld family , who from 1765 had the title of Duke of Liancourt . François XII. de La Rochefoucauld (1747-1827) founded a school for vocational training for orphans in Liancourt in 1776, which became the first École des Arts et Metiers in France.
