Airion is a French municipality with 399 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in Oise in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the Arrondissement of Clermont and is part of the Communauté de communes du Plateau Picard and the canton of Saint-Just-en-Chaussée .
geography
Airion is located in the valley of the Arré stream , which flows a few kilometers south into the Brèche , around four kilometers north of Clermont off the former Route nationale 16 on the railway line to Saint-Just-en-Chaussée . Airion includes the Le Haras de Fitz-James in the south, Le Châlet-d'Airion in the north and the Bel-Air homestead on the D916. Airion is the location of the agricultural school of the Oise department.
history
The hamlets of Crécy and Le Rueuil-sur-Arré were destroyed in the Hundred Years War . In 1547, the Airion lands were acquired by Pierre de la Bretonnière, Lord of Warty (now Fitz-James).
