Wacquemoulin is a French commune of 300 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the department of Oise in the region of Hauts-de-France (2015: Picardie ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Clermont , the communal association Plateau Picard and the canton Estrées-Saint-Denis (until 2015: canton Maignelay-Montigny ). The inhabitants are called Wacquemoulinois or Wacquemoulinoises .

geography

Wacquemoulin is about 20 kilometers northwest of Compiègne on the upper reaches of the small Aronde river . Except for the remains of alluvial forest on the Aronde and the Marais de Mérévillers wetland to the west of the village, the 6.66 km² area of ​​the municipality is woodless. Wacquemoulin is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Méry-la-Bataille in the north, Neufvy-sur-Aronde in the east, Moyenneville in the south, La Neuville-Roy in the south-west, Montiers in the west and Ménévillers in the north-west.
