Épineuse is a French municipality with 244 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in Oise in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the Arrondissement of Clermont and is part of the Communauté de communes de la Plaine d'Estrées and the canton of Estrées-Saint-Denis .

geography

Épineuse is about 34 kilometers east of Beauvais and 13 kilometers east of Clermont . To the south of the commune is the Bois de Favières forest.

history

In the Middle Ages there was a castle in Épineuse. On October 7, 1870, Léon Gambetta , who had left besieged Paris in a free balloon, landed in Épineuse.
