Toponymy and History
The community name is derived from the Latin Maimboldi villa . Since 1157 Maimbeville was subject to a tithing of the Saint-Lucien Abbey in Beauvais . The viticulture practiced on the southern slopes declined in the 19th century and finally died out. In 1853 a fire ravaged the village. From 1828 to 1834 the neighboring parish of Fouilleuse was attached to Maimbeville.
