Erquery is a French municipality with 607 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in Oise in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Clermont and is part of the Communauté de communes du Clermontois and the canton of Clermont .
geography
Erquery is about six kilometers north-northeast of Clermont . The district of Villers belongs to the municipality. The brook Béronelle rises in it and flows off to the Brèche .
history
Since 1170 the parish had to pay a tenth to the Wariville priory in Litz . In 1711 the place was sold to James Fitz-James . From 1828 to 1833, the municipality was united with the neighboring municipality of Saint-Aubin-sous-Erquery . Viticulture on the exposed southern slopes of the place disappeared in the 19th century.
