Lucia Cadotsch (born February 23, 1984 in Zurich ) is a Swiss singer with a jazz background .

Live and act

Cadotsch received vocal and classical piano training at an early age. She studied jazz singing at the Berlin University of the Arts and at the Rytmisk Music Conservatory in Copenhagen. She used the voice as a versatile instrument and thus developed her singing style.

She toured internationally with the band Schneeweiss & Rosenrot and has released three albums since 2009. With Petter Eldh and the saxophonist Otis Sandsjö , she formed the Speak Low project . With the American ukulele and fiddle player Manon Kahle as well as Ronny Graupe , Uli Kempendorff and Michael Griener , she interprets classic country songs as Yellow Bird and released the album Sing in 2015 . She also appears in a trio with Christian Weidner and Kathrin Pechlof and in the Liun electronics project ; she also works with Hayden Chisholm and the Lucerne Jazz Orchestra and can be heard with Super 700 ( Under the No Sky ).

Her brother Silvio Cadotsch (* 1985) is a jazz trombonist.

Prizes and awards

In 2009 Cadotsch won the main prize at the first National Singing Competition New Voices . In 2012 she received the New German Jazz Prize with Schneeweiss & Rosenrot . For her album Speak Low , she was awarded an Echo Jazz in 2017 .
