Silvio Cadotsch

Silvio Cadotsch (* 1985 in Zurich ) is a Swiss jazz and improvisation musician ( trombone ).

Cadotsch comes from a musical family; his sister Lucia (* 1984) is a jazz singer . He completed his music studies at the Lucerne School of Music , which he completed in 2009, with Nils Wogram and Adrian Mears . In addition, he worked in the Swiss jazz scene a. a. with the Lucerne Jazz Orchestra ( Don't Walk Too Far ), the Bienne City Arkestra ( Richie's Barnyard Featuring Richie Beirach , 2010), Zurich Jazz Orchestra and the Miniature Orchestra ( Pro Specie Rara ). In 2007 he founded his own quartet Odem, with which he recorded his debut album in the summer of 2009. In the 2010s he played a. a. with Luca Sisera and in the formations Gregor Frei Asmin Sextet, Der Grosse Bär (around Roberto Domeniconi ), in the Ensemble Metanoia , Blue Bolero and in the Notebook Large Ensemble ; he also leads his own project One Tfu . According to the discographer Tom Lord , he was involved in eleven recording sessions in the field of jazz between 2004 and 2014.

In 2004 Cadotsch and the Christoph Siegrist Group won first prize at the Jazz under the Sky Competition at the Montreux Jazz Festival , and in 2006 the Friedelwald Foundation's sponsorship award.
