Uwe Schneider (born November 26, 1960 ) is a former German soccer player. In 1982 he played for the company sports community (BSG) Chemie Böhlen in the GDR Oberliga , the top division in GDR football .

Athletic career

Uwe Schneider spent a total of four seasons between 1982 and 1990 in the GDR-wide play instinct. As a 20-year-old he was part of the squad of the junior league team of BSG Chemie Böhlen in 1982/83 , but also played three points games in the GDR league as a substitute in the first half of the season. When Böhlen then had to relegate from the league, Schneider was officially included in the squad of the first team as a midfielder for the GDR league season 1983/84. With her, however, he completed only two league games and was also used in the former junior team, which played after relegation as Böhlen II in the third-rate district league Leipzig . For the 1984/85 season Schneider moved to the district league activist Espenhain .

It was not until the 1988/89 season that Schneider reappeared in the GDR league, now playing for the newly promoted BSG activist Borna . After he had helped the Bornaers to the district championship and promotion in the previous season, he was part of the team's player base in the GDR league with 23 appearances in 34 point games. This season he also scored his first goal in the higher-class league operation. League newcomer Borna did not manage to stay in the league, so Schneider had to spend another year in the district league in 1989/90. There he was able to decorate himself again with the title of district champion and immediately returned to the second division. Since the system of company sports associations collapsed as a result of the political change in 1990 , the Bornaer BSG was transformed into the Borna mining sports club. The former GDR league was played in two seasons in 1990/91 under the name NOFV league , but with only 30 point games each. In these games Schneider was used in 26 encounters, in which he scored two goals this time. After the end of the season, the NOFV League was continued as the Northeast Football League , but was only in third class. For the 31-year-old Uwe Schneider, the career in high-class football was over. He could look back on three GDR league games (without a goal) and 51 second division games (three goals).
