Snow white and rose red
Schneeweiss und Rosenrot was a multinational European pop band made up of jazz musicians . Her music is also described as a “tightrope walk between jazz, pop and tonal freedom”; therefore the band is sometimes classified as a jazz band.
The “Jazz-cum-Pop” quartet consisted of the Swiss singer Lucia Cadotsch , the German pianist Johanna Borchert , the Swedish double bass player Petter Eldh and the Luxembourg drummer Marc Lohr.
Lucia Cadotsch and Johanna Borchert got to know each other during their jazz studies at the Berlin University of the Arts , where they first founded a duo of the same name. The quartet then found each other in Copenhagen , where most of the musicians studied at the Rytmisk Music Conservatory . The formation, which has existed since 2004, last operated from Berlin . She has performed at the Kongsberg Jazz Festival in Norway, the Copenhagen Jazz Festival and the Irish 12-Points Festival, as well as at Jazzahead and the Moers Festival . In 2012 she was awarded the New German Jazz Prize.
