geography

former Francastel-Ourcel station

The municipality, bounded in the north by the former Route nationale 30 from Crèvecœur-le-Grand to Breteuil , is located on the Picard plateau around five kilometers northwest of Froissy in the west of the A16 autoroute . The community includes the La Grange homestead and the La Neuve Rue with the Mairie, which has grown together with the neighboring community of Francastel . In the east, the municipality is bounded by a section of the former Chaussée Brunehaut (partly now Départementsstraße D510). The junction of the motorway is outside the municipality in the neighboring municipality of Hardivillers , near the Parc d'activités de la Belle Assise industrial park .

Toponymy and History

The community, known as Ursus mansio in 1164, was called Ourcel-Maison until 2004. Traces of Roman times have been found here. In 1239 the Breteuil Abbey received lands that had previously owned a farm here. The community owned a station on the mid-20th century disused and dismantled meter railway line Estrées-Saint-Denis - Froissy - Crèvecœur-le-Grand.
