I was kidnapped and threatened in connection with his critical article about Ghulam Ishaq Khan who wanted to dissolve Benazir Bhutto's government . In 1994, Mir uncovered a scandal in the Pakistan Navy . According to his research, Asif Ali Zardari was also involved in the scandal. Hamid Mir then lost his job at Jang. I found a job in 1996 as the youngest journalist in the history of the Daily Pakistan newspaper in Islamabad . He lost this job again in 1997 because he wrote an article about the corruption of Nawaz Sharif . In 2001 Mir researched Osama bin Laden and conducted a total of 3 interviews with him.

In his research, Mir found that the US-backed Northern Alliance leader Hazrat Ali bribed bin Laden to provide a safe hiding place. In 2002 Mir joined the Pakistani broadcaster GEO TV and hosted the talk show Capital Talk. The show made GEO TV more popular because politicians from both camps debated the current political situation in Pakistan on the show.
