The Hamiltonstövare is a Swedish dog breed recognized by the FCI ( size 6, sec. 1.2, standard number 132 ).

Origin and history

The hunter and dog breeder Adolf Patrick Hamilton created it by crossing the Holsteiner Bracke with the Hanoverian Haidbracke . Then there were the Kurländer Bracke and the Foxhound . It was first exhibited in 1886.

description

The origin of the dogs can be clearly seen; the three-colored brackish type grows up to 60 cm. The hair is harsh, short and very close to the body. The ears are set quite high. In their length, held forward, they do not quite reach halfway up the snout.

use

The Hamiltonstövare is used as a hunting and companion dog.
