Hamilton Place is in the antebellum architecture built style mansion in Maury County ( Tennessee , USA).

It was built for Lucius Junius Polk , a cotton plantation operator, member of the Tennessee Senate (1831-1833) and later an adjutant-general of the same state (1851-1853). He is one of the sons of William Polk , a veteran of the American Revolutionary War who originally owned the land on which Hamilton Place was built. Construction began in 1829. It was completed in 1832 by the famous builder Nathan Vaught . The front facade is in the style of Palladianism after Andrea Palladio and model of the Villa Pisani . The interior plan is roughly based on the model of the White House , a single arcade is based on Filippo Brunelleschi's design for a hospital in Florence . Lucius Polk chose the name in memory of his brother, Alexander Hamilton Polk, who died shortly before. Lucius Polk became one of Tennessee's wealthiest plantation owners, but with the Civil War , his fortune and most of his money disappeared. Nevertheless, Hamilton Place was one of the few mansions to be spared the war and remained in family ownership until the 1970s.

On July 16, 1973, the building was added to the National Register of Historic Places . The reference number is 73001812.
