Hamirpur ( Hindi हमीरपुर Hamīrpur ) is a city ( Municipal Council ) in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh .

It forms the administrative center of the district of the same name . In the 2011 census, the population was 17,604. Hamirpur lies at an altitude of 764  m in the Front Himalayas .
