Hammerschmitt is a German rock band that is assigned to the New German Hardship . It emerged from the band Pierrot , which was active from 1987 to 1996 . In 1997 there was a change of style with the name change in Hammerschmitt. The band has achieved cult status , especially in the biker scene, through numerous appearances at so-called biker meetings .

history

In 1997 the name was changed to Hammerschmitt, which, according to the band's own statement, should reveal “new visions and powers”. From now on it should sound “harder and more modern”. In the same year a demo was recorded in the Flaucherpark Studio in Munich with the help of Manfred Gruber, with whom they had already worked at Pierrot. This contained no , loneliness and BSE, three German-language songs, which in addition to cover versions and a. by Rammstein , Metallica and AC / DC were played at the first concerts and are still played today. After a two-year concert break, her self-titled debut album was released on the MTM Music label . The comparison to Rammstein predominated in most of the album reviews. After winning the Speedball Festival Award in Luckau, the band consciously tried to free themselves from the pigeonhole thinking “tough and German is automatically Rammstein” and released a demo with three English-language songs, but only for promotional purposes.

The years 2003 to 2004 represent the most successful years for the band to date. 40 concerts were played during this period, including the appearance as headliner at the Biker Union , the largest biker meeting in Germany. This gave Hammerschmitt a high level of awareness in the biker scene that continues to this day. In the Dreamscape Studio Hammerschmitt worked with producer Jan Vacik on her second album, which was released in 2005 under the name Mein Herz .
