Han Xiangzi

Han Xiangzi ( Chinese  韓湘子 , Pinyin Hán Xiāngzǐ , W.-G. Han Hsiang-tzu ), also Han Xian Zi , is a famous Daoist immortal in Chinese mythology . He belongs to the group of the Eight Immortals .

It is said that Han Xiangzi was the nephew or great-nephew of the Tang Dynasty scholar Han Yu .

According to legend, he was a musician and a hermit . He achieved immortality through meditation and is usually depicted with a fishing drum and rattles, and since the Qing Dynasty more with a flute . He is also the patron saint of musicians.
