The Gothenburg Commercial College ( Swedish : Handelshögskolan vid Göteborgs universitet ) is an economics and law faculty at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden . With around 6,900 students (as of July 2018), it is one of the largest commercial universities in Sweden and the only one that is Triple Crowned ( i.e. has three business accreditations AACSB , AMBA and EQUIS ).

history

The university was founded in 1923 by local business people and was an independent university until it was incorporated into the University of Gothenburg in 1971. The campus is centrally located in Gothenburg, close to the Haga district . The main building, designed by architects Sture Ljungqvist and Carl Nyrén , was inaugurated in 1952. The library, which was added in 1994/95, was awarded the Kasper Salin Prize . In 2009 another outbuilding was built.

The commercial college offers bachelor , master and Ph.D. Programs. The language of instruction can be Swedish or English, depending on the program. Due to the master’s degree courses offered in English and the non-existent tuition fees (for EU citizens), the university is popular with foreign students. The faculty maintains around 150 partnerships with other universities worldwide, eight of them in Germany.
