The Concise Dictionary of Natural Sciences is a concise dictionary in 10 volumes, which was published in two editions by Gustav Fischer Verlag . It was founded by Gustav Fischer senior († 1910).

The 1st edition of the lexicon was written by Eugen Korschelt (zoology), Gottlob Linck (mineralogy and geology), Friedrich Oltmanns (botany), Karl Schaum (chemistry), Hermann Theodor Simon (physics), Max Verworn (physiology) and Ernst Teichmann ( Main editorial office). The 1st edition has about 10,000 pages.

The editors of the 2nd edition were Rudolf Dittler , Georg Joos , Eugen Korschelt, Gottlob Linck, Friedrich Oltmanns and Karl Schaum. The 2nd edition contains - in alphabetical order - articles on biology (general biology, botany, zoology), physiology (general, vegetative, animal physiology), crystallography, mineralogy, petrography, geology, chemistry (general, physical, inorganic, organic chemistry) and physics (aids, general principles, structure of matter, mechanics, acoustics, electricity theory, magnetism, optics, geophysics, thermodynamics, statistics). It contains a total of 686 biographies. The 2nd edition has approx. 11,000 pages and 10,000 illustrations.

The approximately 400 authors include a. Ernst Bresslau , Ludwig Plate and Peter Pringsheim .

The 1st edition has been digitized and is available on the Internet.
