The Concise Dictionary of the political system of the Federal Republic of Germany (HPSD) is a 1992 appearing and Uwe Andersen ( University of Bochum ) and Wichard Woyke ( Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster originally) at Leske + Budrich out given on policy or social science Handwörterbuch for political System of the Federal Republic of Germany . It is now considered a standard work and was last published in 2013 by Springer VS in the 7th edition. A licensed edition was published by the Federal Agency for Civic Education . Thematically, taking into account German reunification , it should tie in with the publication by Kurt Sontheimer and Hans H. Röhring from the 1970s. The handbook contains more than 150 articles by different authors, the editors strived for pluralism and interdisciplinarity.

In 1995 the review in Francia magazine was still cautious, although the "thematic selection of the articles [...] was convincing". In 2010, the reviewer of the magazine for parliamentary questions said: "This volume [consider] a useful reference work that can be consulted for a first orientation or [...] to refresh one's own knowledge."
