Uwe Andersen

Uwe Andersen (born April 14, 1940 in Husum ) is a German political scientist .

Life

Andersen completed an apprenticeship as a banker and attended evening high school . He then studied political science and economics at the Free University of Berlin . (Graduated political scientist 1967). In 1967/68 he spent a research stay at Yale University in New Haven. From 1970 to 1979 he was a research assistant at the Westphalian Wilhelms University of Münster and the Ludwig Maximilians University of Munich . In 1974 he was promoted to Dr. phil. PhD. In 1979 he became professor of political science at the Ruhr University in Bochum . In 1982/83 he was dean of the Faculty of Social Science there. In addition, he was Managing Director of the Institute for Development Research (IEE) and Deputy Managing Director of the Center for Interdisciplinary Ruhr Area Research (ZEFIR). He has now retired. Andersen published numerous writings a. a. together with Wichard Woyke the concise dictionary of the political system of the Federal Republic of Germany (7th edition 2013).
