The Hankook Ilbo (German: "Koreas Daily Newspaper") is a South Korean newspaper . It was founded on June 9, 1954 and is based in Seoul . The English-language The Korea Times also belongs to the publisher of the newspaper . In the early years she became known as the first representative of a moderate journalistic stance in politically polarized South Korea, with other newspapers representing either the interests of the ruling party Rhee Syng-mans or those of the major opposition party.

The Miss Korea beauty pageant is organized by the Hankook Ilbo.
