Hanna Elisabeth Heidt (born January 12, 1920 in Staffort ) is a German author and co-founder of the rural women’s association in Baden-Württemberg.

Life

As the daughter of the host couple Karl and Johanna Heidt, she dealt with communication and literature from an early age. After appropriate training, she took over the traditional restaurant "Schwanen" in Staffort from her parents and became active in the local singing and sports clubs as well as in politics as a member of the FDP . In addition, she worked as the regional correspondent for the Badische Neuesten Nachrichten and organized the founding of the local rural women’s group , of which she remained the founding chairman for more than 30 years. She was the district chairwoman of the German Rural Women's Association in Karlsruhe and was on the board of the Baden-Württemberg regional group. When the office was handed over in 2001, she was elected honorary chairman of the district women’s association. For her social commitment she was awarded the BW State Medal in silver in 1990 and the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany in 1992.

For decades she dealt with the regional history of the northern Hardt , wrote numerous poems about life in this region and in 2003 published her book “Memories of the Past”. In it she describes long-forgotten manners and customs and recalls the professions and activities of former village employees, whose activities have long since become superfluous. The lyrics, written for the 900th anniversary of the first mention of the village of Staffort, were also written by her.

Hanna Heidt lives in Stutensee-Staffort and lives in her apartment in the house of the Schwanen restaurant.
