Hanna Judkivska

Hanna Jurijiwna Judkiwska ( Ukrainian Га́нна Ю́ріївна Юдкі́вська , English transcription Ganna Yuriyevna Yudkivska; born July 5, 1973 in Kiev , Ukrainian SSR , Soviet Union ) is a Ukrainian lawyer and judge at the European Court of Human Rights .

Live and act

After studying law , Judkivska graduated from Kiev University in 2003 . She then worked as a lawyer and human rights expert in Ukraine. From 2005 she also worked as a lawyer before the European Court of Human Rights . In 2007 she obtained the title Master in Law and European Studies at the Université Robert Schuman in Strasbourg . In 2008, she obtained a doctorate in law from the Academy of Laws of Ukraine. She then worked as a lecturer in Strasbourg. In April 2010 she was elected as the successor to Volodymyr Butkewytsch as representative of Ukraine as a judge at the European Court of Human Rights. She began her term of office, which will last until 2019, on June 15, 2010. Since February 1, 2017 she has been President of Section IV of the ECHR.
